HASMAT Ali wants to develop the sport of boxing in the country. Ali is the latest licensed promoter with the Boxing Commission of Fiji.
He will be hosting the next program at Prince Charles Park in Nadi on May 5.
The Best Boxing Promotions program will feature several boxers from Vanuatu. Former Universal Boxing Organisation super middleweight champion Kali Jacobus is the key attraction on the program taking on Joseph Kwadjo in the main bout.
Ali said there had been two good programs recently.
“I want to promote boxing,” he said.
“We are getting a few boxers from Vanuatu. The fight between Savenaca Naliva and Ulaiasi Qalomai will be a cracker.
“This is my first program and I’m investing a lot of money. I will be flying to Vanuatu to organise the boxers there.
“This program will be a hit. Kali has big support in Fiji. The students from Vanuatu who are attending at the University of Fiji will be supporting their country mates. Boxing has a bright future in the county. We need more promoters and also promoter helping each other to get the sport to where it was before.”
