Fiji’s Minister for Education Rosy Akbar is urging young people to be innovative in what they do.

She made the comment while officiating at the opening of a game shop called the Battlefield Stun Shop.

Ms Akbar said it was pivotal for young people to have entrepreneurial skills.

“What we are going through is beyond our control but what is within our control to find opportunities in this, and this is a classic example of young people rising to the call of the nation and rather than become job seekers, you’re sort of a job creator,” she said.

Ms Akbar also highlighted that the game shop was a timely one because children were nearing the school holidays.

Shop owner Shafika Ahmed said the shop would be a good place for people to spend leisure time in.

The shop is located at Sports City in Laucala Bay.
