The recent drowning of two brothers in Lautoka should be a warning to parents as the school break starts next week, says Minister for Education Rosy Akbar.

She made this comment while speaking to students who participated at the international youth football academy soccer tournament at Pacific Harbour today.

“There have been two more drowning cases, this is indeed very sad,” Ms Akbar said.

“Children need adult supervision in order to avoid such incidents from happening.”

The two brothers who allegedly skipped school and went swimming with friends in Dreketi, Lautoka, lost their lives yesterday in an alleged drowning incident.

Police spokesperson Savaira Tabua said the search for the two bodies continued.
