STUDENTS of Suva Grammar School were today reminded to choose a career that offers an employment opportunity for them.

In her official address today during the school’s annual prizegiving, Minister for Education Rosy Akbar reiterated to students that they must take into account what they were passionate about when they opted for a career.

“Do not choose a program because your friend is doing that program, you choose something that you are passionate about,” Ms Akbar said.

“You choose something that you know there is a job opportunity waiting for you out there and I’m sure all your teachers in schools must have prepared you for that.”

Ms Akbar also reminded parents to support and guide their children and to ensure that they received the best form of education.

Meanwhile, Salanieta Joyce Lutunaliwa was awarded the Dux prize today.

The 18-year-old Science student also scooped all the five subject prizes.
