Fijian Broadcasting Corporation (FBC) board chairman and co-founder of The People’s Alliance party, Ajay Bhai Amrit, is the new High Commissioner of Fiji to Australia.
Mr Amrit replaces former Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development permanent secretary David Kolitagane, who was posted to this role in November last year.
While thanking the Fiji Government for the diplomatic posting, Mr Amrit said he would advance the Vuvale Partnership to new heights.
In response to queries, Permanent Secretary for Public Enterprises Parmesh Chand confirmed to this newspaper that Mr Amrit had discussed his situation pertaining to the chairmanship role of FBC.
“He will be tendering in his resignation.
The honourable Prime Minister, in his capacity as Minister for Public Enterprises, will be appointing a suitable replacement soon,” Mr Chand said.
