NATIONAL airline Fiji Airways can now connect passengers to several new destinations from Los Angeles and San Francisco through a strengthened codeshare with American Airlines.
In a statement, the airline announced apart from the inclusion of more US cities, the codeshare would also open the door to a significant international route — London’s Heathrow Airport.
“This extended codeshare agreement is a truly remarkable achievement for Fiji Airways,” said Fiji Airways managing director and CEO Andre Viljoen.
The airline is expected to add eight new codeshare destinations to and from Los Angeles and seven destinations that would connect to and from San Francisco.
The US cities include Atlanta, Nashville, Portland, Philadelphia, Seattle, Dallas, New York, Miami and Phoenix.
The codeshare agreement provides Fiji Airways passengers access to 38 cities across the US.
