Advisory: Waidra bridge to be closed for emergency deck replacement work

Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has advised members of the public, especially travelers along Waidra Bridge on Baulevu Road in Nausori that the bridge will be closed for emergency deck replacement work scheduled from 11pm to 4am on Saturday 18th July 18 and Sunday July 19, 2020. Picture: SUPPLIED

Members of the public, especially travellers along Waidra bridge on Baulevu road in Nausori are advised that the bridge will be closed for emergency deck replacement work this weekend.

The emergency deck replacement work is scheduled from 11pm to 4am on Saturday 18th July 18 and Sunday July 19, 2020.

Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) says this is a planned closure that allows it’s contractors to carry out emergency deck replacement works on Waidra bridge during curfew hours, however, they will have standby vehicles on both sides strictly for emergency events only.

“Alternate route is not available therefore travellers along this area are advised to take this notice into account when finalising travel plans.

“We apologise for the expected inconvenience. For further queries please call FRA on 5720.”
