GOVERNMENT member Selai Adimaitoga said the FijiFirst Government has educated more iTaukei children than members of the Opposition party could have done during their time in power.

She said in the past, if one was not related to a chief, they could not get a scholarship.

“The FijiFirst Government has educated more iTaukei children than the other side ever could in their time,” she said.

“What about Fijian villages?

“The FijiFirst Government has connected more iTaukei villages to electricity, water and roads than the other side and all previous Governments have done combined.”

Ms Adimaitoga said any suggestion that indigenous Fijians were somehow being deprived was a complete lie.

“We provide for all. “We do not look at skin color.

“We do not look at the background.

“We do not look at who they are related to.”

Ms Adimaitoga said in the past, if one was not related to a chief, they could not get a scholarship. “Our Prime Minister changed this.

“He allowed ordinary Fijians to access the taxpayer’s money which was previously reserved for the elite.

“It saddens me to see how he is being treated online.

” The Ministry of iTaukei Affairs is committed to fulfilling our mandate and serving the people of Fiji.”
