ADI Ateca Moceiwaqa Mara Ganilau, a noble lady from one of Fiji’s chiefly dynasty has passed on at the age 66.
Ratu Josefa Ganilau the brother of Adi Ateca’s husband, Ratu Epeli Ganilau from the chiefly household of Vuniduva, Aisokula, Lalagavesi in Taveuni confirmed Adi Ateca’s demise saying Adi Ateca passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018 at the CWM hospital in Suva.
Adi Ateca is the eldest daughter of the late Turaga na Tui Nayau, Tui Lau Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara and the late Gone Marama Bale na Roko Tui Dreketi, Ro Lady Lala Mara.
The condolence gathering will begin this Friday, November 23 up until Monday, November 26 at her residence at 87 Alladyce Place, Domain in Suva.
A thanksgiving service for her life will be held at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Suva on Tuesday, November 27, 2018.
Adi Ateca will be finally laid to rest at the chiefly burial grounds/Sautabu at Somosomo in Taveuni on November 29, 2018.
She is survived by her husband, four children and eight grandchildren.
