ADB president in Fiji for inaugural visit

Asian Development Bank (ADB) president Masatsugu Asakawa arrived in the country on Saturday for his inaugural visit.

Mr Asakawa is set to engage in a series of high-level meetings over the next three days with representatives from various ministries.

The primary focus of these discussions is expected to foster trust and collaboration between ADB and Fiji Government.

Mr Asakawa also conveyed his gratitude to the Government for the gracious traditional welcome.

He emphasised the importance of the longstanding partnership between ADB and the Fijian people, and expressed his hope that his visit will contribute to further strengthening this close collaboration.
