ACSOG fundraise for laundry room

THE Nadi branch of the Adi Cakobau School Old Girls Association is hoping to raise about $20,000 from its 66th anniversary dinner at the Sheraton Fiji Resort last Saturday to refurbish the school laundry room.

Branch president Vika Cokakosova said the national executive committee was working to have the various branches adopt different projects to lift the school in terms of the facilities and the daily running of the iconic learning institution.

“So the Nadi branch is now working on the upgrade of the school laundry,” Ms Cokakosova said.

“We have had a couple of discussions about this and a lot of girls suggested that we should not take a washing machine but a dryer.”

She said girls at the dormitories would still use scrubbing brushes and soap to wash their clothes.

“We are thinking of changing the whole look of the laundry.”

Ms Cokakosova said former students of the 90s had installed a gym at the school.

National president Adi Litia Qionibaravi said they had a lot of initiatives in place by the younger members.
