A BABY abandoned at a bus shelter in Cautata, Tailevu, last month could be put up for adoption if family members do not come forward.

Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation permanent secretary Jennifer Poole said if the infant’s biological mother was found, the baby would be returned to her.

Ms Poole said in cases of abandoned babies, the ministry’s objective was to find families that would love them and be willing to provide for them.
