IT took 48 years before Mesake Nawari Seavula found out who his father was.

But it was not until a bittersweet end to 2019 when he was introduced to his paternal siblings this past week that the finance guru was informed that his father had passed on in 2010.

He also was introduced to siblings he grew up and went to school with as a youngster in Yavusania Village, Nadi.

On Boxing Day, Mr Seavula was traditionally presented to his extended family, marking an emotional return to his childhood home — a place that held so many painful memories that he deliberately stayed away for 17 years.
