A-G provides new holy books in Baulevu, Nausori

Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum met with Fijians in Baulevu Landing, Nausori, over the weekend and addressed concerns raised by the community.

This follows an attempted break-in at the Nav Durga Temple in which the holy book, Ramayan, was set on fire.

The A-G reassured Fijians living in the area and provided them with new holy books. He also took the time to talk to local farmers about crimes in the area and issues in regard to roads, water, electricity access and other Government incentives.

The A-G highlighted that the FijianGovernment has been prioritising various infrastructure incentives, including bridges and crossings, and community intelligence gathering should be ensured to counter the criminal activity in the area, which will aid the Police in their investigations.

He was accompanied by Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations and Youth and Sports, Parveen Bala, Minister for Agriculture, Waterways and Environment, Dr Mahendra Reddy, Minister for Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport Faiyaz Koya, Assistant Minister, Vijay Nath, Assistant Minister Jale Sigarara and Deputy Commissioner of Police Itendra Nair.
