Let the due process take its course.
Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said this when approached to respond to calls for him to step down from his position as police investigates his alleged link to a 1987 bombing incident.
“It is unfortunate that media organisations like yourself and CFL have actually been interfering with due process,” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.
“The reality of the matter is that there has been a complaint lodged to the police and the police are now attending to the particular complaint.
“And we will let the due process take its course.”
Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro told this newspaper on November 3 that investigations into a complaint against Mr Sayed-Khaiyum were “still open and ongoing in relation to this case”.
On November 13, the Director of Public Prosecutions Christopher Pryde returned the files to police for further investigation.
Ms Naisoro said this week investigators were working on the issues outlined by Mr Pryde.
