Attorney-General Siromi Turaga says he is not aware of the allegations that claim Grace Road Group president Daniel Kim and other members detained at the Suva Remand Centre were assaulted.

Mr Turaga said all he was concerned about was them going to court.

“We are going to try and will strike out that order and bail,”Mr Turaga said.

“That is our mission. The fact is this, Government has the sole authority to determine who comes in and who goes out. That’s it.”

When asked if Mr Kim and other members of Grace Road were detained for more than 78 hours, Mr Turaga said he could not comment as he did not know all the details.

“Obviously immigration may have specific rules but I’m not really sure when they were taken in and how long Mr Kim and other people have been kept in custody.

“Only thing I’m notified of is our preparations to go to court and that information should come from the director of Immigration.”

An INTERPOL Red Notice is out for Mr Kim and other senior members of Grace Road. Meanwhile, a group of Grace Road employees and members of Mr Kim’s family presented a signed petition to the office of Immigration Minister Pio Tikoduadua in Suva yesterday.
