A-G announces 20 proposed FijiFirst candidates

FijiFirst Party general secretary Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has announced 20 proposed candidates for the 2022 General Elections at Brown Street, Suva today.

Among them is former Republic of the Fiji Military Forces Commander Rear Admiral (Ret’d) Viliame Naupoto, former Land Transport Authority CEO Naisa Tuinaceva, former Foreign Affairs PS Ioane Naivalurua, and former journalist Aliki Bia.

He said they were in the process of screening other applicants before they announced the other set of candidates soon.

He said they would include more women candidates in their line-up for the 2022 General Election.

“The first qualification for anyone who wish to contest the elections under our banner is that they need to subscribe to and believe in the ideas and values of FijiFirst Party,” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.

“More young people applied for a ticket, some were just starting university and some who just graduated recently.

“A lot of young people are finding the FijiFirst Party attractive because of the party’s ideologies and principles.”
