$8.2m in State aid for cyclone and flood victims

THE Fijian Government has spent more than $8.2million in two of its aid programs for those affected by tropical cyclones and floods.
Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation permanent secretary Dr Josefa Koroivueta said they started with deploying 20 teams on Monday to affected communities from Ra to Sigatoka, and Labasa.
And in three days, he said they were able to asasist 5387 families whose houses were either damaged or household contents badly affected.
