Children of Nadi who eye a future in rugby had their dreams bolstered on the weekend by Fiji 7s star Alasio Naduva.

Nicknamed ‘Mr Nitro’ because of his speed, and among the fastest in the World Rugby Sevens Series, the 2018 New Zealand 7s player of the tournament, was part of the Kombat Sportswear Supporting Grassroots Program-organised children’s rugby clinic during the Ram Sami Egg-cellent Easter Fun Day in Nadi on Saturday. Naduva is Ram Sami & Sons Ltd’s brand ambassador.

The clinic and fun day was held at the Mt St Mary Primary School ground.

Event organiser Malakai Yamaivava said Naduva helped taught some rugby skills to children at the event.

“We are grateful to Naduva for his inspirational speech in motivating the children and youths in achieving their dreams to become rugby players,” Yamaivava said.

“Activities on the day included sack race competition, rugby clinic hosted by the Kombat Sportswear Supporting Grassroots Program, egg hunt competition and art and craft competition.

“I thank Ram Sami & Sons for sponsoring the even, event organiser Kombat Sportswear Supporting Grassroots Program, Nawaka Rugby Club, Nawavu Young Boys rugby team and Restoration Rugby Academy for their help.”

Ram Sami staff and event officials visited residents at the Natabua Golden Age Home in Lautoka to donate food and contributions collected from corporate sponsors during the fun day.

“We are glad to help and give back to the community because it is part of our corporate social responsibility, especially during this Easter season,” Ram Sami & Sons business development manager, Abdul Shameer, said.
