78 students and mother of two injured in Lautoka bus accident

A total of 78 primary school students and a mother of two were injured in the Lautoka bus accident yesterday afternoon.

Confirming the incident, Fiji Police Force Assistant Commissioner Operations (ACPO) Livai Driu called for patience as investigations into the incident continues.

“A total of 78 students and an adult were injured while travelling in the bus that had tumbled along Ajodhya Prasad Road, in Banaras, Lautoka yesterday afternoon,” he said in a statement.

“As of this morning, 8 Primary School students are still being admitted in hospital for serious injuries while the rest were treated and sent home yesterday.”

Meanwhile, Police have yet to interview the driver.
