52 roads remain closed to traffic

WITH the trough of low pressure remains slow moving over the Fiji group, 52 roads around the country remained closed.

In the Central Division six roads remain closed, 13 roads remain closed in the Western Division, 13 roads remain closed in the Northern Division and a total of 20 roads remain closed in the Eastern Division.

For the Northern Division, the landslide at Nabaci Village’s main highway has been cleared and is now opened to all traffic.

The landslide at Biaugunu Village, Saqani Road has blocked the access to the village and work is underway to clear the debris. This landslide is blocking the traffic from both sides of the road.

At Wainivula Hill, the landslide on the main road to Waivula Hill has blocked both sides of the road (between Navetau Village & Saqani Government Station) and is closed to all traffic.

The Fiji Roads Authority also confirms that the Kings and Queens Road is open to all traffic.

The National Emergency Operation Centre with the assistance of the Fiji Police will continue to monitor vehicle movements.

Members of the public are therefore urged to exercise precautionary measures.

For any urgent request such as medical evacuation, contact the nearest police station or NEOC on 3319250.
