THE Land Transport Authority (LTA) issued 5029 Traffic Infringement Notices (TINs) from January to February this year for various offences committed on the road.

In a statement issued yesterday, LTA chief executive officer Samuel Simpson highlighted some of the major offences that were committed by vehicle operators during the said period.

The use of unregistered vehicles and non-conforming window tinting topped the list of offences committed by the vehicle operators.

The offences also included drivers not adhering to road markings, use of mobile phones when driving, excessive speed, drivers and passengers not using seat belts, overloading of vehicles and illegal parking.

Mr Simpson also reiterated that road safety is everyone’s responsibility.
