A WESTERN Division artist is part of a team that will put on a unique exhibition showcasing three-dimensional artwork this week.

Hot on the heels of the success of their inaugural “Born from Fire” exhibition titled “The Art of Glass and Metal” last year, the artists are ready to wow Fiji with a new show called “From Ocean to Forest”.

A statement from the organisers revealed that the exhibition was the brainchild of three-dimensional artists Alice Hill from Hot Glass Fiji and Shane Bower from Imagination in Metal.

“It was established with the goal of showcasing the high quality of sculptural art from Fiji,” the organisers said.

“And last year’s exhibition, which featured both individual and collaborative works from Alice and Shane, was a great success and very well attended.

“We hope it opens people’s eyes to the fact that lots of amazing art is being created here in Fiji and encourages them to seek out other local artists.”

Both Ms Hill and Mr Bower have teamed up with Sonny Sofe, a Nadi-based artist, to showcase traditional and contemporary sculptural art in Fiji.

The exhibition will be held at the Grand Pacific Hotel from October 18 to 22.
