Nabua Methodist Church members collected $57,755 during the Nabua Day soli on Saturday.

The money would be used to construct a house for the church pastor.

Church steward Manasa Ratumuri said this was the first soli organised to assist in building the house.

“We will be organising soli fundraising until September,” he said.

“Our target is to collect $380,000 for the construction of a double-storey house.

“Our church minister Josefa Seawale is on his last year with us.

“And we want our church ministers to be accommodated well.”

Mr Ratumiri acknowledged the support from Nabua residents in Fiji and those who have left to pursue opportunities overseas.

“The soli was opened with the Nabua residents living in America and they gave $10,200.

“The three confederacies of Kubuna, Burebasaga and Tovata had a target of $10,000 each.

“We thank everyone present here today (Saturday) for their willingness to support this worthy cause.”
