The movie, titled The Other Side of Heaven 2, would be shot in Pacific Harbour and Natadola.
The movie is a sequel to the 2000 hit movie The Other Side of Heaven, which starred Anne Hathaway and Christopher Gorham in the lead roles.
Director/producer for the movie, Mitch Davis, said the auditions for people interested in participating in the film was going on well.
“The auditions started today (yesterday) and we had 20 people who we did auditions with. There’s so many talented personnels here in Fiji who are very excited to be in the movie,” Mr Davis said.
“I am very pleased with the level of talent and enthusiasm shown by the people here.
“We are also looking for Anglos to be part of the film.”
He said the movie team visited locations in Fiji and Tonga for potential shooting sites and Fiji stood out.
“Fiji offered the most varieties, the best accommodations and infrastructure, particularly the Fiji film incentive, which is very economically attractive to make a movie here,” he said.
“We will shoot in Pacific Harbour for six weeks before moving down to Natadola to shoot for 10 days.”
The principal photography of the movie is scheduled to begin on April 9 this year, with the movie expected to be released in April next year.
