OUT of the $105,000 target set by Macuata Province for the annual soli (financial offering), only $31,075 has been given by the 12 districts.
Roko tui Macuata Vilai Basalusalu revealed this at the Seaqaqa district meeting yesterday after questions were directed to his office on the lack of district meetings held over the past year.
Lomaloma Village headman Leone Lewenivai said compared to five years ago, the district would meet every three months to discuss development projects and issues affecting the villagers.
When district reps and village headmen don’t meet often in meetings for such discussions, Mr Lewenivanua said progress of work would be affected. He asked the provincial council office to always ensure that district meetings were held often so progress of work was not affected.
