30 more Fijians recognised for their contribution

Thirty people were today given 50th anniversary of independence medals in recognition for their contribution to Fiji’s development.

President Jioji Konrote said the medals marked a historic occasion for Fiji as it marked its 50th year of independence.

Out of the 30 recipients, there were only five females.

Among the recipients, was former Commissioner of Police, Romanu Tikotikoca, PM’s permanent secretary Yogesh Karan and Fiji’s Ambassador to the US, Amenatave Yauvoli
