THREE people appeared in court last Friday in relation to two multimillion dollar drug busts by authorities last Monday.
In the first case, Sosiceni Toa, 31, was charged with one count of unlawful transfer and supply of illicit drugs in relation to the discovery of $6.5million worth of methamphetamine in Nadi.
The self-employed Australian citizen’s case has been transferred to the High Court in Lautoka for mention on July 22.
A fellow 35-year-old suspect remains in police custody pending police investigations.
In the second case at the Lautoka Magistrates Court, Australian national Joseph Nayef Abourizk and Josese Muriwaqa were both charged with one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs for their alleged involvement in a $15m drug find near Vuda.
State lawyers submitted the two accused had allegedly committed an indictable offence under Section 191 of the Criminal Procedure Decree and, therefore, should not be allowed bail.
The two men have been remanded in custody and will reappear in the High Court in Lautoka on August 7.
