UNDER the Fair Share of Mineral Royalties Act 2018 $2m has been given to landowners – Vatukoula, Nasogo, Naibulu and Nawailio – last year, says Mineral Resource Department Acting Chief Environment officer Sereima Koli.

She reminded the landowners that 80 per cent of the royalties was owned by the landowners and 20 per cent is owned by the Government.

“This was a result of the mining that has been done in these places which has helped in raking in income for the landowning units,” Ms Koli said.
