A TOTAL of $2 million has been allocated by the Ministry of Health to allow for maintenance works at the Nadi Hospital.
Health Minister Rosy Akbar said this was being done to address the increase in demand for health services in Nadi.
“Works have just been completed on the structure of the hospital,” she said.
“Maintenance works valued at over $2m at the Nadi Hospital will begin at the end of next month and is anticipated to be completed by November this year.
“Refurbishment works at Nabouwalu Sub-Divisional Hospital is also expected to begin next month and hopefully completed by end of 2018.”
She said the various improvement works or new facilities were a sign of Government’s dedication to the Fijian people.
“Your health and well-being is our concern.
“However, we provide the service and your responsibility is to ensure that you take care of your health.
“Building new facilities do not encourage you to be casual with your health.”
