PILLAY Garments Ltd continued its sponsorship, for the Champion vs Champion league yesterday at Fiji Football Academy in Vatuwaqa providing a cheque of $26, 000 for the event.

“It shows the dedication of Pillay Garments to the sport especially to provide for the best possible arena our football champions can perform on.” said Fiji FA CEO Mohammed Yusuf

The CVC is played between the winner of the IDC and National League but with the Blues having won both tournaments, regulation requires the next best team Ba who emerged as the winer of the 2018 Inkk Battle of the Giants Series to compete in the CVC series.

CVC this year will also see a home and away format with Lautoka also the current CVC title holders, to host both games of the CVC at Churchill Park with the second game designated as Ba’s home game.

Ba will be unable to host with renovation still in progress at Govind Park.

“If both teams end up in a tie after both matches, then a third match will be played at neutral venue.”

The winner will receive $5000 in prize money and the runners up $2500.

Lautoka will take on Ba in their first round tomorrow at Churchill Park, Lautoka at 7.30pm.
