THE Ministry of Fisheries operates 26 ice plants that services Fiji’s coastal and maritime communities.

This was noted in Parliament this week by Fisheries Minister Semi Koroilavesau who, two weeks ago, commissioned two fisheries stations in Lau.

Two ice plants were also commissioned on Moala and Cicia in Lau.

“This development is designed to maximise the revenue by fishermen and minimising the cost of travel to access ice,” Mr Koroilavesau said.
