THE BSP Fiji Human Resources Institute (FHRI) national convention was all about enlarging members’ perception on the role human resource practitioners played in running any organisation.
This was highlighted by the FHRI president Kameli Batiweti during the second day of the convention in Nadi last week.
He said the convention attracted 100 human resource practitioners and senior executives around the nation and this year the number had increased to around 250 delegates.
“The convention is the flagship annual event in the Fiji Human Resources Institute calendar. The convention is supported by the BSP Group, consisting of BSP Bank, BSP Life Insurance and BSP Finance who have been doing this for the past couple of years,” he said.
“This year we are privileged to have the BSP Group by our side again.”
He said the progress in the area of membership had been impressive over the past decade and the concept of having human resources personnel merely filing and keeping records had now evolved to having human resources practitioners at the strategic level.
“The theme for this year’s BSP FHRI national convention is “Our People: Today’s Talent, Tomorrow’s Success”. In today’s world, changes are happening at lightning speed hence human resources practitioners need to be prepared for the changes coming our way,” he said.
“Our people are the key pillars in harnessing the organisations. We need to ensure that we prepare them well to achieve success in the workplace.
He said 14 dynamic speakers shared their knowledge in HR and the convention was a great networking platform where practitioners met and mingle with their human resource colleagues and heard what they had been doing in their various organisations.
