THE Lautoka-based Water Authority of Fiji men’s team is hopeful of a good outing in tomorrow’s Westpac Vodafone Nadi Airport International Volleyball Festival.

Bolstered by the services of former national reps Meciusela Vunisa and a few national trialists the side is aiming to reach the final.

The former men’s champion has been training hard for the past four weeks and would be out to restore its lost glory.

Team official Emosi Catanasiga said the competition would be tough but had faith in his troops.

“It is going to be a tough competition and all teams will come prepared for the event,” he said.

‘It is a timed game and we need to start strong. “Our aim is to reach the final and I am confident the boys will give their best in all the games.”

He said the inclusion of some seasoned volleyball players would be vital for the team.

“We have some talented players in the team and have combined at training.”

Catanasiga said they would take each game as it came and would treat all games as the final.

The Water Authority of Fiji will be represented by teams from Suva in the men’s, women’s masters men’s and masters women’s respectively.

The WAF Suva team is the defending men’s champion.

The side is pooled with Intercon 1, Boarder, FNPF, Kookai, MalamalaTokatoka, ANZ and Fiji Airways.
