TWENTY-two athletes from the Serua-Namosi Highlanders will carry the hopes of their province to the FMF Chow Games that will be held at the ANZ Stadium next month.

The Waibogi Wainadiro Primary School will represent their zone to the nationals after 22 of their students showed the calibre of competing against other zones in Suva.

Headteacher Robin Dayal said their aim was to gain exposure for the athletes in national level.

“We want these athletes to get the opportunity of broadening their knowledge and experience by participating in this event,” Dayal said.

“(And) to make new friends and meet athletes from other schools and districts because they are isolated in the interior of Serua and this would be a perfect time for them to visit the city and enjoy their moment in the competition.”

The Serua-Namosi zone has six schools surrounding the area and the Waibogi Wainadiro Primary School with the teachers and parents association will stop at nothing to bring their athletes to the games.

The FMF Chow Games will be held on November 16-17 at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.
