Ana Naimasi will be leading the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team into the World Rugby Sevens Series in Hong Kong this weekend.

The 25-year-old said she was honoured to lead a group of young talented women in their quest of making their island nation proud.

“This is actually the first time for me to take up the role and I am very happy and excited to be given the opportunity,” the Serua lass shared.

Naimasi made her debut for the Fijiana back in 2017 at the Dubai 7s and will be out with the aim of helping her side qualify for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

“I’m very humbled to receive this opportunity and with the help of the other senior players in the team, we will be able to achieve our goal.”

The Fijiana will be competing in Hong Kong for the first time since its inception in 2012.

“I know it will not be easy, but we are ready to give our best.”

Fijiana coach Saiasi Fuli said he was proud of his team’s performance over the past three tournaments, as they hope to qualify for the 2024 Olympics.

“I’m just very thankful to the girls for their good performance over the past three tournaments, and they are all excited to be competing in Hong Kong for the very first time,” Fuli said.
