Attorney-General Siromi Turaga says he will use his 28 years of legal expertise to execute the important role before him.
Speaking to the media outside Parliament yesterday, he said he was humbled to be given such a critical role in Government.
“I am delighted and I am deeply humbled by the appointment,” the former magistrate said.
“I never expected the portfolio to be given to me and I have to take on board that the Prime Minister puts his trust in me.
“I have very big shoes to fill and I will put to good use my 28 years in government working in the Attorney-General’s office.
“We also have a lot of quality people in Government and around me, lawyers like Filimoni Vosarogo, Lynda Tabuya and Tanya Waqanika.”
