Renowned doctor Tukaha Mua claims FijiFirst leader Voreqe Bainimarama’s 16 years in power are unprecedented and Fijians must “vote them out”.

Speaking at a The People’s Alliance party rally in Korovou Town last week, he urged people to be wise when going to the polls on December 14.

“The main thing we have to do in this general election is to change the government,” he said.

“Ninety-nine per cent of Fijians who leave to go overseas, they go to Australia, New Zealand, Canada, USA and England.

“None of these countries had a president or prime minister in power for 20 years, but Bainimarama has been running for 16 years and now he wants another four years. This must never happen.

“Even, one of the world’s powers, USA, the president can only serve for eight years and they must go, but here in Fiji, Bainimarama wants to rule for 20 years.” Dr Mua claimed corruption and nepotism prospered when a government remained in power for too long.

“We must remove this government and to do that, we have to go and vote them out.”

Dr Mua said he believed The People’s Alliance leader Sitiveni Rabuka was the only seasoned politician who could save Fiji.
