SODELPA general secretary Lenaitasi Duru says they had roped in a “Hansard reporter” to take down the minutes of the management board meeting that is scheduled for 10am at the Southern Cross Hotel in Suva today.
When asked about who was responsible for taking down the minutes, Mr Duru said: “I am always busy. I don’t have time to be taking the minutes of the meeting and that is why we try to get someone to just focus on taking the minutes of the meeting.”
Asked about who was responsible for taking down the minutes of Tuesday’s (December 20, 2022) meetings at Yue Lai Hotel in Suva, Mr Duru said that it was a Hansard reporter.
“We hired a Hansard reporter, he gets the minutes done, so normally it takes him a couple of days to get the minutes done and then send it to me for edition and then table it to the management board for endorsement,” he said.
However, in an earlier interview on Wednesday (December 21, 2022) with journalists, party vice-president Anare Jale said he was trying to locate the “person who was taking down the minutes” during the party’s management board meeting on Tuesday, December 20 (2022).
On that same Tuesday, after the management board’s meeting and a secret ballot, the party had announced its coalition with the People’s Alliance Party-National Federation Party coalition to form the next government.
Mr Jale is also the head negotiator for the party.
But asked about the matter again yesterday, he declined to comment and referred all questions to the party’s secretariat.
