‘People consult. They criticise. They argue. That is how they find the best answers.”

National Federation Party leader Professor Biman Prasad made these comments at the final joint NFP-People’s Alliance rally at Nasinu last night, and said that a good government knew that was good.

“A good government allows it. That is democracy. That is freedom,” Mr Prasad said.

He said that was how Fiji used to be.

“We worked together. We built up the economy. We did not go into huge debt.

“People of Fiji – this is your country. We want you to thrive, to live well, to enjoy your families, to feel free in Fiji.

“We want you to speak up, to participate in government, to fight hard for themselves and others.

“We want good workplaces, good health, for our children to be well-educated.

“We want to give power to our people’s kindness and generosity.

“But we need new leaders. New leaders who will end fear and the bullying. Who will listen to you.

“To everyone here – you are here because you love your country. You are here because you want change.

“You have one more job to do. You have to come out to vote in huge numbers.

“You have to encourage everyone around you to vote – and vote this government out.

“People of Fiji – we can do this. We can bring an end to fear and restore your full freedom. We can begin the work of reclaiming and rebuilding our Fiji.

“We have only a few days to go now. Stay strong, stay united. We are brave. We are winning.  Better times are ahead.

“This is our time.”
