NATIONAL Federation Party leader Prof Biman Prasad claims a minister in the FijiFirst Government has incurred mobile phone charges of about $16,000 in one month recently.

He made the statement at a joint rally with The People’s Alliance leader Sitiveni Rabuka in Ba last Thursday night.

Mr Prasad did not name the minister but showed an electronic copy of the purported bill that was on his phone to those present at the meeting.

“This is a telephone bill of a minister for a month,” he said.

“I won’t tell you which minister, but it says that from October 1, 2022, to October 31, 2022, and then it says total excluding VAT, $16,457.75.

“It may seem small in the millions of dollars that have been wasted by this Government in the past 16 years, but this is what they have been doing my friends.

“When Rabuka and I come into Government, the first thing that we will do is cut the minister’s salaries and allowance by one third straight away.”
