THE Fiji Roads Authority aims to finish work on the new Tamavua-i-wai Bridge by early next year.

FRA chief executive officer Jonathan Moore said contractors were still in the preparatory face of works.

“We are working with utility companies regarding relocation and reinstatement. This is a two lane-reinforced concrete deck bridge,” Mr Moore said.

“Once this new bridge is complete, all the existing foundations, substructures and superstructure will be demolished, “he said.

The FRA head said another two-lane bridge would be built in alignment to the current one.
