2019 Sinu Carnival: ‘Speak your mind’

“YOU don’t need to be fluent in English to become an expert in public speaking.”

This was the message from Miss Daulomani Plant Hire Nitika Shankar who is among contestants at the
2019 Vodafone Millennium Sinu Carnival vying for the Miss Nasinu title.

“I want to use this platform to be able to build my confidence in public speaking because I am always shy,” she said.

“The first two days was kind of tough for me but then I managed to get the hang of it and it has really helped me a lot.”

Ms Shankar is pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of the South Pacific and she aims to work at one of the biggest accounting firms in Fiji as an accountant after graduating.

“My only advice to young girls out there is to come out of their comfort zones, be confident and speak your mind.

“I always take criticisms as a way to help build my life and it helps me to become the better version of myself.”

She said if she was given a chance to meet a famous figure in the world, it would be Bollywood singer Sunidhi Chauhan.

  • June 11 – Talent night at 7pm.
  • June 12 – Research topic presentation at 7pm.
  • June 13 – Sarong wear presentation and 2nd public judging at 7pm.
  • June 14 – Traditional inspired attire presentation at 7pm.
  •  June 15 – Crowing night at 6pm.
