OUR focus is on this moment.

That’s the key message from Flying Fijians’ skipper Dominiko Waqaniburotu when asked if he was using the historic victory over France last year to motivate his players.

The France-based player said beating France last year and other previous ratings was history to the Flying Fijians as they started their Rugby World Cup campaign against Australia in Sapporo today.

“We don’t talk about that game anymore (beating France), we talk about the future, we leave what is behind us, that is history,” Waqaniburotu said.

“We always look at what is in front of us andat the moment Australia is front of us and that’s what we focus on.”

Waqaniburotu who played for Fiji in the past two RWC said this team was totally different one from the two previous campaigns.

“This team had been together for a couple of years now and we’ve got more closer and our game has got more higher than the last two world cup.

“Our focus is on this moment.”

An area Waqaniburotu said they wanted to improve on was their discipline in trying to play to the game coach McKee wanted the team to play.

“That’s something we’re still working on during training and something they going to watch out for tomorrow (today).”

Waqaniburotu will be at blindside flanker for the Flying Fijians today.

“We have strength in the centres and wings and looking at our combination I think this is the best combination with Semi Radradra playing on the wing and Waisea Nayacalevu playing at centre.

“Nayacalevu has been playing centre for his club and for this game I see that this is our best combination.”
