THE Nadi football side has qualified for the semi-final of the 2019 Courts Inter District Championship (IDC) in progress at Prince Charles Park.

The home side beat Nasinu 1-nil in its last pool match today.

Rusiate Matererega scored the lone goal from the penalty spot in the 57th minute of play.

It was do-or-die for both teams and the loss means Nasinu is out of the tournament.

Matererega, who is also the team captain, said backing from the home fans helped them register today’s win.

“We want to thank the support of the fans in every way. The match today was crucial and we are fortunate to have made it to the last four,” he said.

Suva now needs a draw against Rewa to qualify with Nadi while the Delta Tigers need to win.
