THE Lautoka football side had to come back from a goal down to hold Labasa to a 1-all draw at the 2019 Courts Inter District Championship in Nadi.

Labasa led 1-nil at the break via a goal from Siotame Kubu.

Lautoka pushed hard in the second spell and they were eventually awarded with a goal to Benjamin Totori in the dying stages.

Totori beat two defenders inside the Labasa box before taking a powerful shot that was too hot to handle for Labasa stopper Akuila Mataisuva.

Lautoka captain Beniaminio Mateinaqara was satisfied with the draw.

“We came to win but it was a difficult match. Down at half-time, we needed to push hard and we did that in the second spell. Our aim is to defend our title and we will work towards that,” Matainaqara said.
