A THIRD place-playoff will be held at this year’s Vodafone Fiji FACT finals.

Fiji Football Association CEO Mohammed Yusuf confirmed this saying the third-place play-off will now be a must in all future tournaments.

He said the last time a third-place play-off was held in a local tournament was during the 2016 Fiji FACT event.

A third-place play-off is a match played between the two losing semi-finalists.

Yusuf said the third place winner would get $2500 while the team that finished fourth would receive $1000.

He said the winner of the final stood to walk away with $17,000 while the runner-up will earn $5000.

In the semi-finals, Nadi plays Lautoka at 1.30pm at Lautoka’s Churchill Park this Saturday, May 11, 2019.

The second semi-final sees Ba take on Suva at the same venue at 3.30pm.

The final will be played a day later at 3pm.
