A NATIONAL youth awards will be established this year to recognise high achieving young Fijians.
While delivering the 2019/2020 National Budget Address this evening, Economy Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said $200,000 has been allocated to fund the awards.
“When we celebrate youth achievements, we show young people that their hard work and achievements mean a great deal to the nation,” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.
“That is why we are giving $200,000 to introduce a National Youths Awards in Fiji uniting all Government departments into one Government-wide effort to recognising high achieving young Fijians from agriculture, to athletics, to social work, entrepreneurship, technology, and innovation.
“These awards will spotlight the potential of young Fijians to their friends, families and to their nation.”
