2019/2020 National Budget: Expect cheaper imported children’s clothing

Listen to this article:

IMPORTED children’s clothing will become cheaper following an announcement by Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum that duty will be reduced from 32 to five per cent.

“This will help to fill the retailers’ shelves with more affordable garments to the benefit of business owners and parents alike,” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.

“And the duty on batteries and power banks for laptops, tablets, cell phones for hybrid cars will see the same cut from 32 per cent to five per cent to cater for increasingly tech savvy society.”
