THE challenge is on the six young women vying for the Vodafone 2018 Miss Tebara crown to portray something different from what members of the public have been seeing in previous years.

Sangeeta Kumar, the Queens coordinator said this in an interview today with the Fiji Times.

Ms Kumar said the theme for this year is ‘Our Environment – Our Future’.

On Monday night during the research topic presentation, the contestants spoke on the factors affecting the environment that included forestry, pollution and global warming.

“Last night, they went through the first public judging and tonight is the talent night,” Ms Kumar said.

“It’s a challenge for the girls because they have become so close like sisters and friends but at the end of it all, they have in mind that it is a competition,” she said.

Ms Kumar said the contestants had prepared well and so far, everything had been progressing well.

Meanwhile, the contestants were treated to a morning tea with the Nausori market vendors who are one of the sponsors and they also paid a visit to the Wainibokasi hospital.

The special awards will be announced on Friday night while the main awards will be presented on Saturday night.
